Artist Statement

Everywhere you look, there is something. Shapes, colors, atmospheres. Beautiful things, mundane things, crooked things, rustic things. Things that float, things that bump into each other, made-up things.

How does it all fit together? It’s an ongoing collision of images and ideas.

I try not to be prejudiced when selecting elements for my still lifes. If my intuition chooses something as a subject, I try to make it fit.

Attention to detail, edgy composition, and a bit of the unexpected are my biggest concerns in the creation of this work.
